M. J. Ruben and Stefan Gigacz, CCI International Coordinators met Archbishop Murphy Packiam on May 21, 2009 and invited him to inaugurate the CCI-SE Asia Meet at Kuala Lumpur on Aug. 8, 2009. While willingly consenting to come, the Archbishop showed keen interest to listen to the experiences of the lay leaders and the efforts of CCI in promoting Cardijn's spirituality, vision and methodology. He also reminisced his association with the YCW and its leaders at various levels and felt that there is a need to revive participation of the people in local communities
